In the name of ALLAH the most Merciful and most gracious. Prayer and peace on the best messengers prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, carrying the message of the ALLAH, most merciful and most gracious, to all creatures, and brought them Quran with an Arabic tongue, clear, eloquent and free from all ambiguities and mistakes. Nations have been interested in their languages since ancient times, and language constituted one of the basic criteria for every nation identity. The attention which the Arabs gave to the Arabic language is the best proof of this since the authentic resources are full of the different studies, particularly, in phonetics, in which, the Arabic language sounds were directly studied or used to explain other language phenomena. These studies dealt with the sounds physiological aspect and observation was an essential way to determine the organs which may affect the sounds production. During the pronunciation, we can determine which parts of the mouth are used and which sounds are produced. Al khalil ben Ahmed al farahidi is the first Arab linguist who studied phonetics and was succeeded by Sibawayh and Ibn al Johani who relied greatly on al Farahidi studies. Then came IBN SINA, the famous anatomist, To prove what his predecessors said and to set a basis on which the West relied in their studies of the language sounds. Nowadays with the appearance of the new technologies, phonetic courses and studies are characterized with accuracy and objectivity and excellence. If we insist on the modernization of the linguistic research, we do not deny at all the efforts of the ancients and what they gave for the Arabic language in general and the Arabic phonetics in particular. This research is an attempt to Set certain standards in order to adjust and show the physical characteristics of the QURANIC readings extensions. Undoubtedly, the HOLLY QURAN remains an absolute and authentic resource to study the different linguistic phenomena throughout ages, he represents the authentic Arabic language which didn't undergo any changes and had gathered the different dialects. This is why i decided that my research will deal with the extensions physical description in the QURANIC readings from which all the samples understudy were taken using the voice of a confirmed reader. I decided,

The reasons behind my choice is that this research is an attempt to seek ALLAH merci and to be at his the service of his HOLLY BOOK as well as my eternal desire to study the language using the new technologies. Add to this the importance of the extensions phenomenon which, i think, every reader must have the knowledge and mastery of it in an attempt to seek perfectness. The objective from this research is to set time standards to different kinds of extensions in an attempt to come in help to " NOUR QURANIC SCHOOL" founded by some women, friends of mine and who were in need for a standards basis in the teaching of the HOLLY QURAN. I started in my research from the introduction possibilities of new technologies in the laboratory study of the Arabic language samples and whether the results will meet linguistic heritage which already exists. My research will be divided into an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion. The introduction will deal with a historical background of the QURANIC readings science without forgetting to mention its relation with the HADITH of the seven letters. I also, tried to shed light on the difference between the reading, the reporting and the way through the use of the example of the IMAM " NAFAE" reporting og of "WARSH" by the way of " AL AZRAG". The first chapter is entitled " the linguistic sounds between past and present" and will deal with the essence of the sound and the letter without forgetting to differentiate between the past linguistic sounds and the present ones in terms of classification and its standards. Then, comes the second chapter to deal with the extensions, the subject matter of this research, with more details from a linguistic view point and the readings experts' view. In the third chapter, i will speak about the phonemes, we mean by this the section, the accent, the toning and the rhythm and what its relation is with the short and long vowels. At last, in the four chapter i will deal with the acoustic study of the extensions letters to show their physical characteristics. i tried to set a program capable of
