It is a register of spoken courses that was recited by his tutor "Mohammed ibn arafa) D .803 . H ) Our work comes Within a series of studies that were achieved by a group of researchers in The College of Islamic Sciences - University Of Algiers 1. Their work was ended in chapter 37 .Following the orderliness , I have chosen chapters : 38,39,and 40 from the chapters left, (i.e. the Suwar :" Sa'ad, Azumar and Ra'fir") This book is regarded as one of the rare accomplished registrations of the oral exegeses that were existed in north west African countries of the eighteenth century. It is distinguished from other ordinary exegeses by its quality of renewal and richness ,for it is a registration of a serial cours es that had been repeated for more than twenty years .So ,this tafsir was constructed of these discussions that had taken place between ibn arafa and his disciples, where more than one mind shared in producing new ideas . Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn arafa al – warghami was known as a great Faqeeh of Tunisia in the eighteenth century (A person who is an expert on Islamic jurisprudence (law)or (fiqh),and he wrote so many books in the field. This tafsir proved that his wide knowledge and experiences gave him not only the ability to teach and write in the other Islamic sciences, but also to be creative in it . He was the outstanding representative of the maliki school in hafsid Tunisia . He wa s a berber from south – eastern Tunisia ,and had

414 Tunisian and marinid teachers such as Ibn 'Abd asalam,Ibn salama …etc. After becoming Imam of the great mosque of Tunis and muf ti , he exerted by his knowledge and virtue a considerable influence which extended outside the frontiers of his own country . His chief disciples were Al-ghobrini ,Al-burzuli, Ibn nadji and Al-ubbi .like other fokaha' of his time , he strove to rev ivify malikism by reconciling law and custom. His treatise on definitions (Hudud),which has become a classic and is the object of a commentary by Al -rassa' ,testifies to his care in defining juridical ideas with precision .His great work on fiqh Al -mabsut or al - mukhtasar al -kabir , which is still in manuscript, is still now almost forgotten . I relied in editing this work on five copies of the text : -Two of them are preserved in Algerian National librar y ,no.349 and 2828 tafsir . -One is a copy of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments no.39. -One from Tunisian National library no.10972. -The last copy was preserved in the Institution of Arab Manuscripts in Caro , Egypt no.116.( it was another register of the same text written by '' el-ubbi"),I used this later to clarify both the spelling and the meaning of the principal copy. My work was divided into two sections: 1- a theoretical section: in which I dealt with the presentation of th e text and its author , beginning by shedding some light on the historical circumstances that shaped the environment of the text and its creator .So, we focused on the main characteristics of political, social and cultural atmosphere of Tunisia in the Hafsid Era ,especially the period that covered ibn arafa's and Al-basili's lifetimes .then, we removed into a detailed biography of ibn arafa in which we precised his:

415 -Name and his birthday. - family and childhood . - Physical description and moral qualities. - Cleverness in his life study . - Tutors and students . -Books and works . -Jobs. - Death's day . even the inadequacy of information about his life , we preferred to dedicate a short biography to El-basili Though With less details. 2-The examination section : It was about the tafsir and its copies, so we described the authentic copies through: - mentioning its bibliographical information (place ,classification, folio ,lines, scribe …etc). - speaking about the other registers of this "tafsir" that were recorded by el-ubbi and e'salawi -making a comparison between the registration of el-basili and that of el-ubbi. I have endeavored as far as possible to correct the mistakes in the text and to punctuate it . I have left the language as it is even it is sometimes obscure, so that the text remain as its author intended it. The explanations of difficult words, the biography of Unknown names and other necessary comments were all mentioning in the margin I ended this work by a detailed index about( verses, Ahadeeth , persons and technical idioms )that were recited in it .
